Description Focuses on recognizing life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac or respiratory arrest and reacting quickly and correctly. The course teaches how to assess responsiveness, breathing and pulse, and how to begin high-quality CPR using the correct compression rate, depth and hand placement. The course also covers rescue breathing and airway management with techniques such as the head tilt–chin lift and bag-valve-mask use. Trained to respond to choking in conscious and unconscious individuals and to apply appropriate interventions. Communication and coordination within a team, activation of emergency response systems and ensuring scene safety are emphasized.
